SOURCE SPORTS: Hampton and North Carolina A&T to Face Off in 2026 NBA HBCU Classic at Kia Forum

The NBA has announced that the 2026 NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T will feature Hampton University and North Carolina A&T State University. The matchup will be held on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, as part of NBA All-Star 2026. The game tips off at 8 p.m. PT and marks the fifth edition of the annual showcase.

“Hampton University and North Carolina A&T State University are two premier HBCU institutions with a historic rivalry that represents the pride, tradition and excellence of HBCU basketball,” said NBA Deputy Commissioner and COO Mark Tatum. “We look forward to hosting both teams in Los Angeles as part of NBA All-Star 2026.”

The NBA and AT&T will donate $100,000 each to Hampton and North Carolina A&T, continuing their commitment to supporting HBCUs. Since 2021, the NBA has contributed more than $5.5 million to HBCU programs, scholarships, and partnerships.

CAA Commissioner Joe D’Antonio praised the collaboration, calling it “an incredible opportunity” that aligns with the conference’s values of unity and excellence.

Hampton Athletic Director Anthony D. Henderson, Sr. said the event offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase HBCU talent and legacy on a national stage. North Carolina A&T Athletic Director Earl M. Hilton III highlighted the historic rivalry and the chance to display “Aggie Pride” during NBA All-Star Weekend.
