Filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, Dec. 14, authorities confirmed. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical aid call around 3:30 p.m. and discovered a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman deceased at the residence. Sources identified the victims as Rob and Michele Reiner.
Multiple sources told PEOPLE that the couple’s son, Nick Reiner, is suspected in their deaths. Police confirmed that Nick, 32, is alive and currently being questioned. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Nick Reiner has previously spoken publicly about struggles with drug addiction and periods of homelessness. Officials have not released details regarding the cause of death.
