Today’s Artist Of The Week is dedicated to Brooklyn-born graphic artist and producer August Riche !
Graphic Artist and Producer August Riche was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1986 into a world of art, culture and music that she was destined to be a part of.
Drawing and creating since the age of 6, August was inspired by her older brother’s graffiti art and was exposed to a new world. She attended Bayside High School in her hometown Queens, NY as an art major to improve her craftsmanship. August then majored in Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia in 2004 but felt as though she could expand her gift outside of school therefore dropping out and freelancing.
August Riche has since been creating but not limiting herself to several styles of art including abstract, urban stencil and graphic illustrations. Also, as a child, she taught herself to play the drums and piano, using that talent to work on audio production.
Currently residing in Atlanta, GA, Riche has been able to expand her art and music and launched her website, www.richeprints.com showcasing her many endeavors and introducing her to not only the rest of the country but the world.
In addition to her recent entry into a Midtown Atlanta art gallery, Riche has had the opportunity to personally share her work with celebrities such as Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, Lady Gaga, Melanie Fiona, Snoop Dogg and Kerry Washington to name a few.
August Riche’s goal is to further expand her creations and inspire.
