Chicagoland is a documentary that looks into the Second City to figure out what exactly is going on and tells the story of those living in it, from politicians to everyday working people. While it isn’t necessarily focused all on the negatives, there are some heart-wrenching moments, like the clip previewed earlier today featuring Chance The Rapper.
The Southside native has become a serious fixture in rap circles and is poised to make even bigger waves in the coming months, but that doesn’t take away from the realities he and his compatriots are forced to live with. Detailing his stress about his Lollapalooza performance, Chance also has to come to grips with the sudden loss of one of his closest friends, a young man named Kevin. It is an intimate look at the psyche of someone living in harsh conditions that is attempting to escape, but also to elevate them.
