I first heard about Memphis upstart June while attending this year’s SXSW festival in Austin, Texas and after catching his performance at the Nice Kicks showcase I was definitely intrigued by the few choice joints he delivered.
Today the Southern emcee drops off the first single from his upcoming debut album, June2Real, entitled “City Love.” The drapped and dripped soul-fused track is produced by June’s younger brother, Teddy Walton, and purveys a style of hip-hop June describes as “Urban Epic.” The Memphis representa’s project is slated for a summer release. Keep your ears peeled for some new June tunes between now and then.
