On Wednesday, Nov 5, the ROOT (drive-in) in Chelsea hosted a launch event for this year’s holiday collaboration between the iconic Italian liqueur brand Disaronno and iconic Italian fashion brand Versace, for their limited edition Disaronno Wears Versace bottle, available through the holidays.
Following last years partnership with other Italian fashion brand Moschino, Disaronno is quite consistent with their exquisite collaboration portfolio. Famed DJ Samantha Ronson and DJ Vashtie spun some of my favorite records while legendary photographer Steven Gomillion provided some photo ops to VIP guests like Dule Hill, Sophie Elgort, FAUST, Samantha Black, Sharon Carpenter and DJ Mos. And of course, a steady flow of specialty drinks were served throughout the party, making for a fantastic mid week affair.
Many of New York City’s fashion and entertainment aristocracy helped to pack the venue, which was set up to appear as the backstage area of a typical Versace fashion show with racks of clothing, makeup vanities and models dressed in select Versace pieces for a runway of which they unveiled the Disaronno Wears Versace Bottle. I’ve been to a few Disaronno events this year, and this one was the best by far, felt like Fashion Week all over again kind of. The combination of fashion and free great tasting cocktails was everything a girl needed.
