The news of the St. Louis grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson has sent the country into an extremely uncomfortable state over the past 48 hours, and it has emotionally affected Michael Brown‘s parents in unimaginable ways. On today’s edition of CBS This Morning, Mike Brown’s mother, Leslie McSpadden, alongside Brown’s father, Michael Brown Sr., joined the CBS morning show to comment on some of the comments Wilson made to George Stephanopoulos during his hour-long interview with the ABC news anchor and journalist. According to Wilson, his “conscience is clear” and that given another opportunity, he “would not have done anything differently.”

McSpadden was asked to comment on Wilson’s statements this morning, and she had this to say.

His conscience is clear. How can your conscience be clear after killing someone, even if it was an accidental death?

She went on to state,

I don’t think he wanted to kill my son, but he wanted to kill someone

And called Wilson’s comments “insult after injury” and “so disrespectful”.

Prior to this morning’s CBS interview, Michael Brown Sr. was adamant about his son’s resolve speaking to NBC.

He respected law enforcement. Who in their right mind would rush or charge at a police officer who has his gun?
