Bobby Shmurda’s Bail Has Been Withdrawn, Will Remain Behind Bars Until Further Notice

Bad news for Bobby.

Last week, fans of Bobby Shmurda were delighted to hear that his $2 Million bail was posted and he was set to be released some time this week. Today, it has been revealed that the amount has been withdrawn, with no clear reasoning or explanation.

“It’s our understanding that the suretor has withdrawn and that no hearing is currently scheduled,” Kati Cornell, a spokeswoman for New York City’s special narcotics prosecutor, told The New York Times.

After firing his previous lawyer Howard Greenburg, Shmurda enlisted the help of famed NYC defense attorney Kenneth Montgomery, whom issued a statement as well.

The bail arrangement, which was backed by the rapper’s “management associates,” has been put on hold. “We’re trying to do a new bond application and are in the process of figuring that out,” said Shmurda’s lawyer Kenneth Montgomery. “We’re hoping to get it done within the next week.”

The GS9 frontman was arrested in mid-December along with the rest of the collective on a multitude of serious charges ranging from murder, attempted murder, narcotics trafficking and more.
