Activist Bree Newsome is recognized as a hero for her brave act, however, she has since been arrested and the flag has been put back up just in time for an 11 AM white supremacist rally
Less than an hour after Bree Newsome scaled the 30-foot flag pole on the grounds of the South Carolina State Capitol this morning, the flag was replaced and Newsome was placed under arrest. It is still uncertain what crime Newsome was charged.
As Newsome reached the top of the pole she shouted,
“You cannot get to me with hatred and oppression and violence. I come to do this in the name of God. This flag comes down today.”
