Not a surprise to many, but Sam Smith will be singing the theme song for the next James Bond movie. It hasn’t too long since another British superstar was asked to sing the soundtrack for a James Bond film; Adele sang the theme for Skyfall, which earned her an Academy Award. As of late, grabbing the uber-popular British artist of the time appears to be the trend–which is understandable, the Bond films are set in the UK. This is a great accomplishment for the 23-year-old who shared his excited via his twitter account.

The song is to be titled “Writing’s on the Wall,” and will be released September 25. The movie comes out October 26 in the United Kingdom and November 6 in the United States.
