Longevity is important when it comes to radio. Some people are here today, gone tomorrow, others find a way to be semi-relevant for a few years but never leave the kind of impact the folks on this list leave. Well, The Baka Boyz know all about longevity. They rose to prominence in 1992 (!) and still find themselves cracking the 2015 Power 30 list’s Top 10. In fact, it was them that discovered Big Boy–who just signed a deal that pays him $3.5 million annually–and it was their early dominance at Power 106 that made them Los Angeles’ signature Hip-Hop station. Even when they chose to focus more on R&B, or producing (they performed well at both), The Baka Boyz remained a radio prowess, launching their nationally syndicated “Hip Hop Master Mix.
