Earlier today, interview footage from Fox & Friends surfaced involving Stacey Dash responding to a recent declaration by Jada Pinkett Smith, who will be boycotting this year’s Academy Awards to help highlight the Oscar’s diversity problem.
Dash, who has joined Raven-Symone in forgetting she’s black on occasion during nationally televised interviews recently, went on to bash Smith’s decision, saying:
Because we have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.
She would go on and propose that we, as “Americans,” should also eradicate Black History Month. Well, Black History Month might not be able to defend itself but BET certainly wasn’t having it. In an Instagram post from less than an hour ago, BET uploaded a picture of Stacey Dash in their popular dramedy, The Game, asking if they can have their check back.
Talk about a clapback. You can watch more of Dash’s comments in the Fox video clip, here.
