A 40-year-old woman has reportedly been shot during a screening of Michael Bay‘s 13 Hours movie in Washington. The viewing appeared to be progressing uneventfully when, roughly 15-20 minutes into the film, a loud bang occurred, but moviegoers thought it was merely a “lightbulb going off in the theater,” and few people reacted.
However, the truth about what had just transpired slowly became apparent, and chaos ensued. The perpetrator was a man who appeared drunk upon his entrance into the theater, and according to authorities, he was fumbling with the firearm, and it went off shortly after hitting the ground. “He said he dropped the gun and it went off” say Renton Police, who also believe that the man was intoxicated at the time of the shooting.
Thankfully, the victim will likely pull through, and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, movie, pulled in just over $16 million in its opening weekend last week.
