Who needs James Bond? Idris Elba‘s already had a pretty successful 2016, snagging a couple Screen Actors Guild awards for Netflix’s Beasts of No Nation, the war drama film he co-produced and starred in. Today, the trailer for his newest film, Bastille Day, was released, and it’s certainly reason to believe that the British actor is just getting started on the year.
Bastille Day is set in modern-day Paris, and stars Elba as the tenacious former CIA agent who hooks up with a prolific pocket thief to foil a terrorism plot. There are lots of big guns, Idris Elba is whooping the asses of bad guys, and even in the short trailer above, you get a feel for the amount of comic relief Bastille Day will pack. The film hits theaters in April in the UK, but a U.S. release date has yet to be set.
