One of VH1’s most loved reality stars, Angela “Big Ang” Raiola, has died today [Wednesday, February 17] after battling Stage 4 cancer.

Sources tell Entertainment Tonight that Big Ang, 55, passed away in hospital in New York surrounded by loved ones. She first learned of her cancer in March 2015 when she had a tumor removed from her throat and then in June that year, she underwent the same procedure once again. Entertainment Tonight revealed her cancer had returned in December last year.

Raiola is survived by her sister, Janine Detore, her two children, Raquel and Anthony Donfrio, and six grandchildren.

“Big Ang” was an extremely popular cast member of Mob Wives, known as the fair peacemaker. She will no doubt be missed by family, friends and fans.
