Miguel Gives Surprise Performance at His Former Middle School’s Talent Show

Miguel is for the children. The Wildheart crooner made a triumphant return to his alma mater, Dana Middle School in San Pedro, California on Friday with a surprise appearance at its third annual talent show, which was organized by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor.

Fresh off his Michael Jackson tribute live at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards – a ceremony in which he was nominated twice – the R&B heartthrob aided Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino in presenting winners with their awards, and treated the entire student body of 6th, 7th and 8th graders to two performances, including his double-platinum single, “Adorn,” from his second album, Kaleidoscope Dream.

“Crazy, I always loved the smell of the auditorium and it was exactly how I remember it,” shared the former Dana track team star and member of the audio recording program at the San Pedro Boys & Girls Club – where he crafted some of his very first songs – in an ensuing Instagram post. “Huge shout to all the students, parents, family friends and staff. Loved every moment.”
