Stephen Curry Drops 51 on Magic, Simply Cannot Be Stopped

At some point, somebody has to stand up and say something.

How is this happening? At draft time in 2009, Stephen Curry was the wily shooter from Davidson that nearly shot his team into the Final Four, but he wasn’t taken #1. Hell, he wasn’t even taken #5. In fact, the Minnesota Timberwolves picked two point guards (Ricky Rubio, Jonny Flynn) in the draft that year before Stephen Curry came off the board at #7. Now, he’s arguably the best, most exciting player in the NBA. He’ll probably be the two-time reigning MVP of the league in a few months, and as far as the NBA Championship goes…well…the Eastern Conference should be a fun race.

Curry was at it again Thursday night, and after wowing the Miami Heat on Wednesday with a 42-point total that included casual 40-foot jump shots, he decided to one-up himself and drop 51 on the other Florida team. Curry finished with 51 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the Warriors’ 130-114 victory over Orlando last night, and in case you thought he was finished hitting jump shots from 40-or-more feet away…he wasn’t.

The best part about that Vine clip, is Warriors guard Leandro Barbosa‘s reaction to seeing the shot go in as he stood on the far sideline. He didn’t seem surprised, or overly excited that his teammate just hit an absurd shot from half-court. It’s business as usual if you’re a Golden State Warrior.
