Ty Hunter is the genius behind Beyoncé’s incredible red carpet ensembles, but often requests an expert opinion from the Jigga Man himself, her husband, JAY Z.
“A lot of the time, I will ask him what he thinks, especially if they’re going out together,” Hunter revealed to Britain’s Heat magazine, reported by Contact Music. “I’ll work with his stylist and see if the outfits makes sense—you don’t want them to clash, especially if they’re walking the red carpet. So I’ll often ask him what he thinks about what she’s wearing.”
However, the pressure is left on Hunter to find the outfits in the first place. While Beyoncé may have stepped into the fashion world herself with new sportswear collaboration with Top Shop, Ivy Park, Hunter relies on the world’s biggest fashion houses to dress the Queen Bey. He’s always careful to make sure her clothes are unique, to limit the risk of wearing the same thing as someone else.
“It’s a fashion no-no, so we contact all the showrooms worldwide to make sure they haven’t sent the same dress to someone else,” He explained.
In order to guarantee originality, the stylist seeks new talent in the world of fashion.
“I often find new designers on social media, when fans tag me and direct message me with suggestions for designers who’d suit her,” he disclosed.
Hunter has been collaborating with the singing superstar for the past 16 years, after Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles discovered him working in a department store. The two sparked a friendship from there. While he’s seen Beyoncé’s style evolve over the years, he maintains becoming a mother to four-year-old daughter Blue Ivy hasn’t had a negative impact on her style and wardrobe.
“Beyoncé shows that you can still be a parent and be sexy,” he enthused.
