It’s been several years since DJ Drama last had an album in stores–Quality Street Music was released in 2012–but don’t get it twisted. The legendary mixtape orchestrator has continued his reign in the streets, with output alongside Lil Wayne, Freddie Gibbs and Childish Gambino. Drama has also teamed up with Philadelphia producer, DJ and mixtape host Don Cannon to help engineer the launch of Lil Uzi Vert, one of the youngest new stars in the game, and an Atlantic Records signee.
With all that going on, Drama has apparently gotten back to work on a new LP, Quality Street Music 2, and has begun promoting it today with the release of a new single, “Wishin,” featuring Chris Brown, Skeme and newcomer Lyquin. CB sets the tone of the sensual record, while Lyquin and Skeme–yes, Skeme–come through with smooth sing-songy verses that complement the record perfectly.
