Nipsey Hussle is facing criticism online for a seemingly homophobic Instagram post. On Monday, the Crenshaw rapper posted a picture of a group of tuxedo-dressed young Black men and adults with the caption, “Demonstration speaks louder than Conversation. They gone feed us every image of our men and boys but this one. No hyper violent… no homo sexual… No abandoners… JUS STRONG BLAC MEN AND YOUNG Men. RESPECT TO MY BIG HOMIE @BIGU1 for leading with love and intelligence. GOD IS WITH US WHO CAN GO AGAINST US.”
The response to the “Killa” writer’s post which some have called “tone deaf” was quick, but Nipsey stood by his statement and defended it in a series of statuses on Twitter.
We sitting here on a Monday seeing the same people upset over the H&M ad, co-signing Nipsey Hussle saying gay Black men aren't representations of strong Black men. "They said what they said" & "It's an opinion" only matters when its not you being offended right?

Nipsey Hussle literally could've made his post about whatever he was doing and not mention the gays. Like what did the gays have to do with anything? I need somebody to explain.

I see Whas going on. Y’all should too.” Nipsey also quoted Dave Chappelle’s newest Netflix Stand-up special in a tweet saying, “the whole world has turned into b***h ass n***as.”

Nipsey Hussle is no stranger to this type of controversy. In 2015, Hussle man came under fire for responding to a tweet calling black women “a disgrace to black culture.” The rapper responded to the Twitter post calling it “True S**T.” Nipsey was also dating half-Black actress Lauren London at the time.
Top Dawg Entertainment President, Punch, came to Nipsey’s defense on Twitter. “It’s crazy out of everything positive @NipseyHussle said in that ig post, ppl chose to focus on the one part they deem as being homophobic,” said Punch.

Nip had a big end to 2017 releasing his first single “Rap N****s” from his ‘Victory Lap’ album and signing a partnership deal with Atlantic Records – a deal that Nipsey has sought out since launching his independent career. However, a controversy like this is capable of causing a shakeup with the partner label. Atlantic Records has not yet released a statement on Hussle’s comments.
