Retired Dallas Cowboy MVP Sets Music Scene Ablaze With “Wine Ya Body”

The phrase “reinvent the wheel” hits home when it comes to Jeremy Mincey’s career. You likely have seen him on the field in previous years, as he was voted Defensive MVP for the world-renowned Dallas Cowboys. His football career was an absolute dream, and produced such fulfillment for Mincey. However, after retirement from the NFL, his passion for music was once again invigorated. And since then, the musical entrepreneur hasn’t looked back once.

When asked what drew Mincey, also known as Mr. Mince on stage, to music, he informed us that it has always been a part of who he is. While he was younger, he was heavily influenced by rap and hip-hop, especially thanks to his cousin who produced for rap star Gucci Mane. “I really got a good taste of hip-hop through this. I was constantly around it, and I’ll never forget the pure enjoyment I felt from writing and sharing my own raps in school. Even through football, though music wasn’t my main focus, I never let music stray,” said Mr. Mince. While going full throttle with his successful football career, he also leveraged this in making connections in the industry. It wasn’t before long that he was working alongside Kevin Gates.

In 2012, Mr. Mince made the wise decision in opening up his own studio. Years later, he released his first major album, “Just Work”, which has been keeping Youtube and Soundcloud on fire. Specifically, his singles, like “Wine Ya Body” have seen over 40 million streams on both platforms. “When ‘Just Work’ got picked up by Footlocker, it went crazy. It was so surreal walking into the store, and hearing my song playing in rotation. I was the first NFL player to get my record played in major stadiums,” said the artist. Mr. Mince believes in his craft, which is so essential to his overall success. He is a true inspiration for all artists, whether they’re new to the game or seasoned veterans.

Mr. Mince is focusing on his next major project, which is a new album featuring up and coming artists as well as major artists like Maino and Bobby Valentino. The album, “Well Rounded: The Legacy”, will be distributed through Priority Records. “It’s a very well-rounded sound. It’s something everyone can bob their head to no matter the age range. It is just all around good music,” said Mr. Mince. Regardless of what is going on in the world of Mr. Mince, his goal is simple: to open doors for a lot of artists, no matter where they come from. It has taken years of hard work and dedication, and Mr. Mince’s dreams from his childhood are finally coming to fruition.
