Dibo is the debut winner from DaComeUp UK’s 2018, urban talent competition. Born and
raised in Luton (United Kingdom) this young MC started music at the early age of 13 making
freestyles with her friends for fun, but it was not a career she thought she would end up in.
Inspired by artists like Wretch 32, Chronixx and Bam Bam, Dibo spent over 10 years honing
her musical lyrics. Dibo released her first track in 2016 that put her on the music scene,
however it wasn’t until she won Margs ‘Pen Game’ challenge in 2018, where her video
received overwhelmingly positive feedback, that the reality of her dream seemed attainable.
Dibo continued her musical journey when she entered DaComeUp UK’s call for “the hottest
artists in the UK”, but never believed she would win. At the audition, she performed an
unheard track that instantly had the crowd singing along by the second verse. After the first round of auditions, her footage was shown to the judges – Buck (Actor, Director and Artist Manager for Giggs), Twin (President of Island Records, Urban Division), Julie Adenuga (Beats 1 Radio) and Post (Founder of the media platform GRM Daily). Buck took an instant liking to the MC and selected her as one of his four finalists for his team ‘The Locals’. When asked, Post said “Dibo is the coldest MC’ in this competition”, and to noone’s surprise, Dibo went on to win, and now she is ready to take the Rap world by storm!
