Empire actor Jussie Smollett is “pissed off” that he is being doubted about the recent attack where he claims he was assaulted and had a noose placed around his neck by assailants who poured a chemical substance on him and yelled homophobic and racial slurs.
In a recent interview on ABC’s Good Morning America, the 36-year old actor says that he is upset that his description of the tragic events is being questioned.
Smollett originally did not give the authorities his phone, but recently done so. However, detectives have rejected the records Smollett submitted via PDF because they were so heavily edited.
A police spokesperson stated that Smollett was not being accused of changing his phone records, admitting that the actor was being cooperative with the investigation and is still being treated as the victim of a hate crime.
