Drew Brees added another accolade to his Hall of Fame career on Monday night. In a 34-7 win against the Colts, Brees passed Peyton Manning for the most all-time record for passing touchdowns.
Brees passed Peyton on a 28-yard touchdown pass to Taysom Hill at the end of the 3rd quarter. The All-Pro now has 540 career passing touchdowns to Manning’s 539.
Tom Brady who is currently 3rd on that list with 538 passing touchdowns sent his congratulations to Brees via Twitter.
“Congrats drew!! Couldn’t be more deserving. Passing Peyton in anything is an incredible achievement and your records will be tough to beat! But it’s worth trying,” Brady wrote on social media.
Not to overshadow his career accomplishment, but Brees also completed 29 of 30 passes on Monday night good for a 96 percent completion percentage which is an NFL record. Brees also added 4 touchdown passes in the game. The Saints stand at 11-3 and are playing for a first-round bye in the playoffs.
