Home Alone is a go-to film to watch during the holiday season. Nothing beats gathering with your loved ones and watching the McCallister family have a crazy Christmas. Although you may have seen this movie countless times, did you know it was filmed inside of a gym?
The Netflix series The Movies That Made Us revealed the decade-old fact and people are floored.
The establishing shot of the McCallister residence is a crib in Illinois, but the indoor scenes weren’t filmed inside of that home at all. The scenes were simply an elaborate recreation of the interior design at New Trier Township High School’s gym.
The Home Alone production crew executed this improvisation flawlessly and Twitter is shook!
A reboot for the classic holiday film is in the works and Archie Yates has been cast for it.
