Rain910 swerves through Hip-Hop with a level of thoroughbred-ness lost on this generation of rappers. His school of thought of the lineage of Nasir Jones, the master. His musicality, embodied by the masterful heritage gained by being a student of Havoc, Rza, Sermon, and P. Rock. His lyricism all his own, constructed by the exposure of being around some of the realest emcees in the culture.
And so with a pedigree like this, anticipation for his new project has been at an all-time high… and if this “Last Day” freestyle any evidence of what is to come, this former Maybach Music maestro will offer true Hip-Hop lovers something special to vibe to this year.
Last Day dropped as a visual on social media, to the backdrop of a mechanic shop. Apropos is the oil slick and optic grit of the soundstage where the video is shot, for the visceral lyrics that Rain910 (who is as comfortable in front of the mic as he is behind ProTools or Logic) spits confidently in the camera.
He raps:
“Your money don’t match with the Cuban chains. When I step in the room the mode gets strange. The youthful king, with truthful gain. But the high score up and remove your name. I really went hard in this ruthless game. Was really on the word with the troopers came. Just to get in my trap, you got to knock three times Give the password and your username. If you say you the king, I need proof of claim… Cause I don’t know no one that knows you. Who you?“

But what makes this former “Unsigned Hype” alum special, is that while he is gearing up for a new project, he is still giving back.
He and other beatmakers under the group moniker the Phantomnotes Beatsmiths (@phono83 @rain910 and @rikmarvel) are each dropping samplepacks from artists to get access to premium beats for their songs. This is a new and innovative way to shift how music is shared between creatives.
