During a Facetime interview with Oprah Winfrey for an episode of Oprah Talks: COVID-19 on Apple TV, Sabrina Dhowre, wife of Idris Elba revealed that she tested positive for the Coronavirus.
During the live stream, Elba says he believes he and his wife contracted the virus around the same time.
“On the day of the exposure, we were together at home and had been together right until I had departed to fly so at any point then,” “and prior to us knowing, if I’d caught it, she’d certainly have caught it in that time period as well.”
Dhowre says that her “instincts as a wife” kicked in which led her to be by her husband’s side despite the risks.
“As soon as I heard that Idris was potentially exposed, I mean, I was on the my way anyway, I wanted to be with him,” she said. “I think that’s an instinct as a wife. You just want to go and take care.”
Dhowre who like her husband wasn’t showing any symptoms of the virus says that current symptoms she is having now are equivalent to the symptoms faced during allergy season.
“I’m not. It could be similar to Idris. ” “We’re in a high altitude it could be that I’m confusing seasonal allergies as maybe symptoms but I don’t feel anything that would come to what people would now expect to be a symptom of coronavirus, which is very strange.”
She also added that she will keep the public updated on their symptoms
