Jason Whitlock Out at Fox Sports After Failed Contract Negotiations

Jason Whitlock has run his course with Fox Sports and will now be looking for new opportunities. The Speak For Yourself host reportedly failed to reach a new contract with the network after four years at the network. Whitlock’s last show with the network was on Friday.

Whitlock as an African-American was no friend to the black community during his years at Fox. The 53-year-old Black sports commentator became a controversial figure for his vocal opposition and forced critiques of prominent African-American athletes.

Whitlock repeatedly criticized and trolled Colin Kaepernick for his protest of police brutality. Whitlock also attacked LeBron James for speaking out on racism saying that James couldn’t be affected by racism because he was rich. In an op-ed, Whitlock attacked Serena Williams calling arguably the greatest tennis player of all-time male or female an “underachiever” with an undisciplined diet.

Having now had his stint with the two largest sports TV networks ESPN and Fox, Whitlock’s mainstream media outlets are limited. The New York Post is reporting that the veteran journalist could be looking to get into the “direct to consumer” business likely meaning podcasting as many in his industry have done.
