Similar to most millennials, FLASHGRFX spent a lot of his time as an adolescent coding and designing elaborate Myspace page layouts, which garnered the attention of his peers and he eventually began getting hired to design layouts for others.
Flash started designing party flyers and music cover arts, but the most pivotal moment of his career was when he designed a cover for one of the most successful emcees from his city: Meek Mill.
Flash was connected to the Philly emcee through a mutual friend and the rest was history after Meek posted Flash’s artwork for his song “From Da Bottom” on his social media pages.
Flash saw more success after participating in The Game’s Year of the Wolf artwork contest. The Hip Hop veteran praised the Philly designer for designing his favorite cover art, but the bag was fumbled because Flash failed to get permission from the photographer to use the image. Flash was grateful for the exposure and the copyright lesson and went on to do great things.
Flash designed artwork for the likes of Gucci Mane for his 3x-platinum single “Both” featuring Drake. He also designed the artwork for Megan Thee Stallion’s double-platinum hit record, “Hot Girl Summer” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign.
Flash’s work has been recognized Internationally after working on three separate projects for Burna Boy. He designed the cover art for three of the singles on his Grammy-award winning album, Twice As Tall, including the lead single, “Wonderful.” Flash was tapped to design the artwork for Burna Boy’s lead singles “KILOMETRES” and “Want It All” featuring Polo G, which may appear on his upcoming album Outsiders.
WizKid and Tems’ “Essence” and MoneyBagg Yo’s “Wockesha” were two big records of 2021 and Flash had a hand in both! He directed the official lyric video for the “Essence” remix featuring Justin Bieber and designed the artwork for the “Wockesha” remix featuring Lil Wayne and Ashanti.
Flash is even a part of female rap history after designing the first-ever diamond plaque awarded to a female rapper.
What started off as a hobby transformed into an opportunity to inspire and build generational wealth by monetizing digital artwork.
Although he’s been putting in work for over a decade, this is just the beginning for Flash Grfx.
