Meet Odhran McBride, 21 year-old Irish upcoming rapper better known in the industry as Yung Craka. Starting his journey in the industry making music when he was only 17 years old with a normal life cleaning toilets and working at a pillow factory for cash. Early on, being inspired by icons like Joji for the melodic delivery and Kanye West for his sample choice. Yung Craka developed his own unique sound.
Growing up in the Irish countryside he always felt aspirations of being a hip-hop artist were impossible, silly and unrealistic. He believed nobody would take him seriously so the music he made would always be kept to himself and his 12 SoundCloud followers at the time. After about a year of making music, word managed to get around his local community and school that he was making music. To his great surprise people actually enjoyed it! With his newfound confidence he would really start to take it seriously.
Yung Craka started reaching out to other artists and came across Shotgun Willy. It was an instant connection and he sent him a song that Willy really liked the chorus of. Therefore, he asked him to get rid of the verses and he would jump on the song with his new “better written” verses. To this day, that song is today’s TikTok smash hit “Oreo”. They would go on to make more singles together and an EP. In 2019, his single “Buy U” hit the YouTube algorithm and really made his recording artist dream come true. He started gaining millions of views and tens of thousands of subscribers now doing it full time.
