The music industry is by far one of the most competitive spaces, with hundreds of talents joining every single day. This sometimes makes it challenging to penetrate the industry and even get your music heard globally. However, that has not stopped the celebrated band Coast Club from cementing their spot. So how did they do it? Here is a look at their incredible story.
With a deep passion for music, Ace Future and his partner Trevor Shawn started their journey in the industry early on. According to the duo, they have been producing music and DJing since 2012. Over the years, the two have performed and headlined various events all over US and Asia, including world-renowned clubs like Omnia in San Diego, Marquee in Las Vegas, and Catwalk Disco in Guangzhou, China.
Coast Club also hosts their own radio show, “Beach Bass Radio,” on Insomnia’s global radio station and has released a couple of songs, including “Better Together” and “New High” featuring Tyler Graves.
Getting to where they are, the two both agree that the journey has not been easy. They have encountered various obstacles, but their love for music and adventure is what has kept them pushing. When Ace and Trevor started DJing, it was more of a way to express their passion for travel and surfing, but with time, their love for music blossomed, and they wanted to use their talent to spread positivity and encourage others.
By sharing their story, Coast Club is now showing their audience that nothing is unattainable with determination and focus. In 2018 the duo was in a three-member band called TREO, and it was a time they went through one of its toughest times, resulting in a huge loss. One of the band members quit to follow a different path, and as it was something they had not anticipated, Ace and Trevor didn’t know what to do.
TREO had an entire summer’s worth of shows booked and tons of music set to release, all of which they had to put on hold as they restrategized. Even so, Ace and Trevor didn’t give up on their dreams. They rebranded as Coast Club, and through hard work and determination, they built a name for themselves.
Today, Coast Club is one of the top bands, having performed at numerous clubs across the world. They have released successful remixes for Hayden James, THEY, and Lauv, accumulating millions of streams. Coast Club also released a collaboration with Blenders Eyewear in 2020 that sold out worldwide.
“Attaining success is never easy, and they are numerous roadblocks, but that should not stop you from reaching your goals,” says Trevor. Ace adds that your patience and perseverance define you as an artist and what you want to achieve.
The music industry is growing rapidly, making it challenging to penetrate. However, as a creative, you shouldn’t give up hope. Coast Club notes that they wouldn’t have reached the top if they had given up every time things didn’t go their way.
As Coast Club continues to thrive, they are taking over the music industry with their unique style of music and energetic performances. They aim to impact more lives, helping create unforgettable memories with the rest of the world. As stated by the duo, their goal is to release 6–8 singles each year. Coast Club is also working on their side project, Motel Margarita, a traveling pool party series.
