While we have different definitions of success, we all want to make our dreams a reality one day. But it is not that easy considering the many challenges that litter the path to success, with some that often seem impossible to overcome. This, among other reasons, makes it hard for people to start and build thriving ventures, which according to Joy Orleans, is part of why she started her journey in music.
She explains that having walked an almost similar path to most people, she wanted to use her story to encourage others as she shows her fans that no dream is too big. Just like her name, Joy uses her music to bring joy to the world by supporting others to fulfill their goals.
“People will always try to show you why you will not excel,” says Joy. “But you shouldn’t let their words control your future.” She notes that the most important thing is knowing that only you have the power to rewrite your story. Joy also adds the importance of focusing on the positive to help you overcome hardship.
Joy has not given up on her dreams despite facing numerous obstacles and even being forced to flee her hometown, New Orleans, due to Hurricane Katrina. She has chosen to focus on the positives, and she is now using her platform to spread positivity and bring change to the world.
Through her music, Joy encourages others to push through challenging situations and empowers young women to follow their dreams. As a divorced single mother of five, Joy understands the challenges most single parents face and how hard it can be, especially when you do not have anyone by your side.
Joy says that her goal is to be a voice for the voiceless and to use her platform to shed light on specific issues affecting society. She also shares the lessons she has learned along the way to help other up-and-coming artists.
Her unique style of music, authenticity in expressing her feelings, and impeccable voice make her a top artist, with her songs gaining massive recognition across the globe. Joy’s song, “Miracle of Love,” is currently making waves and has earned thousands of views. Joy has also written and composed “Starlight,” “Medusa,” and a rendition of “Amazing Grace,” which she performed during a two-day reenactment of the 1811 slave rebellion held in Louis Armstrong Park in New Orleans in 2019.
As a re-enactor and community advocate, Joy uses her music to spread her message of love and hope, building a strong community of people who are not quitters. Her outstanding work has been recognized in and out of the US, receiving various awards, including the Women’s Advocacy Award in 2017.
As Joy Orleans continues to grow, she shows us that while there are numerous challenges in life, it is still possible to excel and live your dreams. She is also proof that one person can make a difference, with her music changing thousands of lives.
