A Look Into the Story Behind Mohit Chawla’s Transcendent Music

Mohit Chawla is a musician and producer with the Midas touch. Born in India to working-class parents, he moved to England at 4. In grade school, Mohit was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), which made it difficult to stay focused in school. Mohit faced bullying and ridicule for his learning difficulties from his peers, and many of his instructors didn’t know how to handle him. His saving grace came in the form of music. Despite his challenging start in life, Mohit’s family soon discovered he had an incredible aptitude for music from an early age. After hearing him sing, his mother enrolled him in piano lessons at 10.

The bullying stopped, but the music kept coming. It inspired him through difficult times when nothing else provided comfort. It gave him a reason to get up every morning and pursue what he loved most: making beautiful sounds. In his junior year of high school, Mohit dropped out and opted for music production as an alternative path. Despite being told he would never find success as an adult without being academically inclined, Mohit persisted in his craft and continued to prove he could do anything he set his mind to.

In 2016, his debut album, The Eagle’s Nest, broke records in India and gained worldwide attention. Mohit’s career took off, and since then, he has continued to soar to even greater heights. He has played in orchestras, composed music for national TV shows, and was even nominated for international awards. Despite these accomplishments, Mohit’s favorite part of being a musician is that it allows him to speak through music to people who may not be able to otherwise express themselves. He hopes to continue doing that for many years.
