UpNow is Audiomack’s emerging artist initiative, which focuses on and promotes the next wave of international music superstars to show off what’s coming up in culture. Black Sherif will be highlighted across the platform’s channels with specific marketing, editorial, social support, playlisting, custom videos, and more. She will also be featured on the cover of Audiomack’s acclaimed #UpNow playlist.

“I’m excited to be an Audiomack #UpNow artist,” Black Sherif said. “I’ve had Audiomack since high school. It was the first platform that I used and convinced my friends to listen to my music. It was easier, and it looked professional. It’s been the primary thing for me to connect with my fans and share music.”

“We’re thrilled to have Black Sherif as our next #UpNow artist,” Audiomack SVP of Marketing and Brand Strategy Jason Johnson said. “We have been fans of him since his first upload on the platform in 2020 and it is amazing to see his growth over the last two years. We look forward to collaborating with his team to help showcase his talent, expand his brand and further introduce his music to a diverse array of fans.”

The lean but formidable discography of Sherif, who recently passed the platform’s 100 million global streams milestone, encapsulates his hustler’s tale. His first upload was in August 2020, but he gained popularity with “First Sermon” in 2021 and later that year gave us “Second Sermon.” Sherif’s fame increased in December 2021 after Burna Boy joined the “Second Sermon” remix.

Sherif dropped “Kwaku The Traveller,” his most reflective song to date, in March 2022. “Kwaku The Traveller” became the most streamed song on Audiomack thus far in 2022 with over 35 million streams thanks to its sharp and moving narration. It is also Black Sherif’s biggest hit to date. DJ Khaled, who praised the Ghanian artist’s most recent hit as a “huge chune,” gave him significant recognition as well.

The #UpNow initiative from Audiomack has a reputation for identifying and promoting the next wave of up-and-coming musicians in genres like hip-hop, R&B, AfroBeats, and more. Rod Wave, EST Gee, Blxst, Pooh Shiesty, Sheff G, Omah Lay, and Ayra Starr are just a few of the previous #UpNow honorees.

By launching Audiomack Punjabi earlier this summer, a new vertical aimed at amplifying the renowned genre, introducing the music to new audiences, and featuring versatile playlists highlighting the region’s most well-known contemporary artists, Audiomack reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its global presence.
