Thursday night, The Fortune Society held their annual Graduation ceremony at their facility in Queens.
Styles P and Jadakiss inspired the graduating class with words of encouragement and hope for a brighter future. Styles P shared his personal experiences that mirrored their own. Getting the general education diploma (GED) is a huge leap into getting their lives on track and having their favorite rappers attend and take photos with them was priceless. The students gave praise to the Fortune Society.
The Fortune Society is one of the nation’s most respected nonprofit organizations offering reentry services to formerly incarcerated men and women. For 46 years, The Fortune Society has provided services to those individuals, as they face challenges that would test the most resilient among us. Fortune’s holistic, one-stop resources – counseling, health services, substance abuse treatment, education, housing assistance, advocacy, career development, and community education – assist and support them as they become true contributors to society.
