Bruno Mars has made history as the first artist to surpass 150 million monthly listeners on Spotify, the platform announced Monday (Jan. 27). The milestone cements Mars as the current number one artist on Spotify, further showcasing his global appeal.
This record-breaking achievement follows his recent Spotify success with “Die With a Smile,” his collaboration with Lady Gaga, which became the fastest song in the platform’s history to reach one billion streams. Shortly after, “APT.,” his collaboration with ROSÉ, also hit one billion streams, securing Mars the top two spots for the fastest songs to reach the milestone.
In total, Mars now boasts 17 tracks with over one billion streams each, including hits like “That’s What I Like,” “Locked Out of Heaven,” and “Just the Way You Are,” solidifying his legacy as a streaming powerhouse.
In celebration, Mars hit social media and urged fans to keep streaming, recalling rumors of being in debt with Vegas casinos: “Keep streaming! I’ll be out of debt in no time.”
