Diddy’s Request for Unrestricted Access to Cassie’s Evidence Videos Denied

Sean “Diddy” Combs has encountered another legal setback as a judge denied his request for unrestricted access to sensitive videos submitted by Cassie as evidence in their ongoing legal battle. The denial comes amid claims by prosecutors that Diddy’s request showcases a “willingness to violate the Protective Order in order to embarrass” his former partner.

The videos in question, which Diddy has referred to as proof of his innocence, were provided by Cassie as part of her case against the Bad Boy Entertainment CEO. Diddy has claimed these tapes demonstrate Cassie’s consensual participation in the alleged activities. However, prosecutors argue that some of these videos are particularly sensitive and require stricter regulations to protect Cassie’s privacy and dignity.

Under the current Protective Order, Diddy and his legal team are permitted to view these tapes in person, under the supervision of law enforcement. While Diddy has access to review many of the submitted videos to build his defense, the restricted tapes cannot be reviewed without oversight.

In a court document filed on January 28 and obtained by HipHopDX, prosecutors detailed their concerns about Diddy’s intentions. They emphasized that his request for unrestricted access could be an attempt to “embarrass Victim-1 [Cassie]” and litigate the case in the public domain.

The document further stated: “The defendant’s apparent willingness to violate the Protective Order… underscores these concerns. There is now an even stronger basis for the Court to strictly regulate the defendant’s access to the Inspection-Only Videos.”

The judge sided with the prosecutors, denying Diddy’s request for unrestricted access while providing alternative options for his legal team to review the footage. The ruling allows the defense to view the tapes, extract necessary information, and even manipulate the videos for their case, all within the constraints of the Protective Order.
