We’re glad someone said what needed to be said. The Game recently very publicly criticized former President Donald Trump for neglecting wildfire victims in the Altadena area during his visit to California. Trump’s visit last Friday (January 24) focused on the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, which was also impacted by the blazes, but The Game pointed out that Altadena, a community also severely affected by the Eaton Fire, was left out of the presidential tour.
In a passionate Instagram video posted on January 29, The Game stated, “Most of the big media outlets, the president… I think President Trump went over to the affected areas of Pacific Palisades, but he didn’t make his way to Altadena.” He added, “I’m not telling President Trump what he has to do or what he should do or nothing like that, but let’s not forget about Altadena.”
Like we said, THAT needed to be said, especially from the Hip Hop community, where some have hero worshipped Trump, for some reason we can’t place our finger on.
It all went down in an interview with TMZ, The Game elaborated, emphasizing that while Trump’s attention to Pacific Palisades was important, “these people [in Altadena] are just as important.” He continued, urging, “I think that President Trump and anybody else that is running the country need to come down here and do their due diligence here as well.”
The Game has been an active participant in supporting both the local firefighters and families affected by the wildfires. In social media posts from earlier this month, the rapper shared his direct involvement, delivering essential supplies like food, water, blankets, and hot drinks to firefighters battling the flames. “Me & my team have been down here with the brave men & women fire fighters on the ground day in & day out assisting anyway I can to make their days a little easier,” he wrote in one Instagram post.
Get this, the Game also expressed deep gratitude for the efforts of the firefighters, noting, “These fighters are coming from all over the city, state & country to help put an end to what has been a long week of catastrophic events caused by these fires. They kept thanking me for being here… and in my mind I’m like, ‘No, THANK YOU!!!’ for doing the unimaginable in a time of pure terror & despair.”
The Compton emcee’s message resonated with his followers, as he pledged to continue his support for Los Angeles, stating, “My heart goes out to each & every person directly affected & those watching from all over the world who are mentally in pieces over what has happened in my city. I am here for Los Angeles & I will always be here to do my part.”
What’s more, he also encouraged fans to stay connected with him for information on how to help those in need, adding, “To everyone calling me… asking how they can help, stay locked in to my page as I’ll be posting information, links etc to get everyone in a position to assist.”
