History is on the line at this year’s AT&T Slam Dunk Contest as two-time defending champion Mac McClung returns in pursuit of the first three-peat since the event’s inception in 1984. The electrifying dunker, who has captivated fans with his high-flying acrobatics, will look to cement his place among the all-time greats.
McClung won’t have an easy path to history, as he faces a trio of first-time participants eager to make their mark. Rookies Stephon Castle (Spurs) and Matas Buzelis (Bulls), along with Bucks sophomore Andre Jackson Jr., will bring fresh competition to the high-flying showcase.
Adding to the excitement, NBA legend Vince Carter—whose iconic Dunk Contest performance in 2000 remains one of the greatest of all time—has spoken with this year’s contestants as they prepare to put on a show.
The AT&T Slam Dunk Contest will be the final event of State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, taking place at Chase Center on Feb. 15 (8 p.m. ET, TNT). The night will also feature the Kia Skills Challenge and Starry 3-Point Contest, with participants for those events yet to be announced.
