Irv Gotti Reportedly ‘Declared Dead’ by Close Sources

Irv Gotti, Hip-Hop mogul, producer, and founder of Murder Inc. Records, is “declared dead.” According to AllHipHop, sources provided the update two days after Gotti suffered a second stroke, resulting in bleeding of the brain.

In August 2024, Irv Gotti’s team has confirmed he suffered a stroke. According to TMZ, the “minor stroke” occurred over six months before the reveal as a result of diabetes complications.

“Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago,” Gotti’s rep said in a statement. “He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He’s been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life.”

At the time, a video of Gotti walking with a cane surfaced.

Wack 100 initially shared news of Gotti’s first stroke on August 26 during his podcast, claiming that he spoke with someone at a stroke recovery center who shared that the multi-platinum manager suffered an acute stroke.

Wack said he received pictures of Irv’s recovery, one of which shows the producer walking with a cane, which Wack called a “walker.” Wack said this image was taken outside the recovery center and added that Irv has “lost a lot weight” during this potential health issue.

Wack then asked his listeners to pray for Gotti, who has been suffering from diabetes for the past several years.

Irv Gotti, born Irving Lorenzo, is an iconic hip-hop executive, producer, and the founder of Murder Inc. Records. After Gotti’s demonstrated success as a music executive at Def Jam Records, the company was established in 1999. Ja Rule, Ashanti, Lloyd, Charli Baltimore, and many other top hip-hop, soul, and R&B performers were all introduced by the record company. He also transitioned into film and television in his career. Gotti also infamously beat a federal case, which targeted him and the Murder Inc. team. In 2022, Gotti revealed a $300 million transaction in which he sold a 50% stake in his master recordings in Murder Inc. and received additional cash for several film and television projects.
