Grammy-nominated rapper Wiz Khalifa and world champion surfer-songwriter Makua Rothman have joined forces with Ozium to release Clear the Air, a new single and music video celebrating their shared love for music, surfing, and cars while challenging cannabis stigma.
For over 50 years, Ozium has been a trusted name in air care, initially designed to combat airborne bacteria before becoming a staple for cannabis enthusiasts. The brand has been referenced in over 50 hip-hop songs, including one from Wiz himself. Now, Ozium embraces this cultural legacy with the Clear the Air campaign, developed alongside independent creative agency Madwell.
“This campaign is all about authenticity,” said John Rabenhost, CEO of Niteo Products. “Wiz and Makua embody the brand’s deep-rooted connection to music, lifestyle, and self-expression.”
Wiz Khalifa echoed the sentiment, stating, “Clearing the air isn’t just about smoke – it’s about energy, good vibes, and keeping things fresh. I’ve been rocking with Ozium forever, so this just made sense. Whether you’re in the studio, in the car, or just chilling, you gotta keep the air right.”
The campaign also includes a sweepstakes for exclusive merch, featuring custom jewelry designed by If & Co., the creators of Wiz’s Ozium bracelet showcased in the music video.
Reflecting on his experiences, Rothman added, “Back in the day when we were considered ‘bad boys,’ our days were surf, sing, smoke, repeat. Back then it was not only taboo, but illegal, and Ozium was always there to clear the air. Nowadays, we use it to rid our lives of all the insane kid smells ravaging our house and home. Thank you for always being there to clear the air for us, Ozium!”
With Clear the Air, Wiz and Makua are not only dropping an anthem but also reinforcing Ozium’s legacy as more than just an air freshener—it’s a symbol of lifestyle, culture, and keeping things fresh.
