Saba and No ID Set March 18 Release Date for Joint Album From the ‘Private Collection of Saba and No ID’

Chicago rap luminary Saba and GRAMMY®-winning producer No ID have announced that their long-awaited collaborative album, From the Private Collection of Saba and No ID, will arrive on March 18 via ARTium Recordings and Pivot Gang Records, LLC.

The project follows a trio of compelling singles—“head.rap,” “How To Impress God,” and “Woes of the World”—which offered a glimpse into the reflective and layered sound that defines the upcoming release. The album’s journey has been anything but straightforward. Originally conceived as a mixtape, the duo scrapped and rebuilt the project during the second half of 2023, emerging with sonically rich and emotionally charged work.

A personal turning point came when Saba suffered the loss of his uncle, the person who first introduced him to hip-hop. That grief became a catalyst for deeper introspection and a new creative direction. “It made me want to re-approach things,” Saba says. “I had to have a lot of conversations with myself that I hadn’t had to have in a long time.”

For No ID, known as the “Godfather of Chicago Hip-Hop,” the album represents a belief in growth through honesty. “To have a real career, you have to reinvent your thought process,” he says. “You think you know—and then everything changes.”

With From the Private Collection, Saba and No ID aim to bridge generations—melding raw vulnerability with intricate lyricism and forward-thinking production to craft a timeless statement on art, legacy, and personal evolution.
