Playboi Carti’s long-awaited third studio album, I AM MUSIC, made a massive impact upon its release on Friday (March 14), becoming Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2025 so far. The project, which had fans waiting eagerly, marks a major milestone for Carti as he continues to push creative boundaries and dominate the charts.
In related news, Kanye West voiced his clear frustration, almost annoyance, with Kendrick Lamar’s significant presence on Playboi Carti’s highly anticipated 30-track album.
Gotta love Ye. He never shows his cards until he slams them on the table like an Uno reverse, ha!
“I DON’T LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC,” Ye posted on X, seemingly irritated. “HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM.”

The embattled Yeezy honcho’s comments come just a month after he acknowledged Lamar’s undeniable talent in a conversation about rap battles. “If you rap against Kendrick, you will lose,” Ye told Justin LaBoy during an interview on The Download. “This man does this. You know, in Street Fighter, you get Chun-Li, you get a certain kick, and no matter what, you can’t beat that thing?”
Contradiction, much?
Ye went on to elaborate, saying, “If you rap against Kendrick Lamar, like Joe Budden said, ‘Never rap against Kendrick Lamar.’ If you rap against Kendrick Lamar, it’s a difficult task, but perhaps it’s something … I’m a psycho genius, so you know, it could be.”
Playboi Carti’s latest album features Kendrick Lamar on three tracks: “Good Credit,” “Mojo Jojo,” and “Backdoor,” the latter of which was produced by Ye himself. Despite these collaborations, it appears Ye has mixed feelings about Kendrick’s involvement.
