Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s hit single “Luther” continues its reign at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a fourth consecutive week. The track, which samples the late R&B legend, Luther Vandross, has become a monumental success, marking Lamar’s sixth No. 1 hit and SZA’s third.
For Lamar, “Luther” surpasses his previous longest-running No. 1, “Not Like Us,” which ruled for three nonconsecutive weeks. He also led the chart for three straight weeks in April 2023 with “Like That” alongside Future and Metro Boomin. His other chart-toppers include “Squabble Up” (2023), “HUMBLE.” (2017), and his feature on Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” (2015).
Meanwhile, SZA extends her longest Hot 100 stay at No. 1. Her previous No. 1s—“Kill Bill” and Drake’s “Slime You Out”—topped the chart for one week each in 2023.
Lamar also continues to dominate the chart’s upper tier, holding three spots in the top five. “Not Like Us” remains steady at No. 3, while “TV Off” featuring Lefty Gunplay slips from No. 4 to No. 5. This marks the sixth week Lamar has held at least three spots in the Hot 100’s top five—tying Drake for the most weeks among solo artists. Only The Beatles, with eight weeks, have done it more.
“Luther” drew 55.6 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 3% from the previous week), 31.3 million official streams (down 9%), and 3,000 downloads (down 24%) during the tracking week of March 7–13. The song maintains its grip at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart for a fourth week, climbs to a new peak of No. 2 on Radio Songs, and dips from No. 8 to No. 17 on Digital Song Sales.
On genre charts, “Luther” has dominated for 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts. It also leads R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Adult R&B Airplay for a third week each, making history as the first song to simultaneously top both Adult R&B Airplay and Rap Airplay.
Additionally, “Luther” reaches No. 8 on Pop Airplay, marking Lamar’s first top 10 in the format since “Pray for Me” with The Weeknd in 2018, while SZA notches her seventh top 10.
With “Luther” maintaining its stronghold and Lamar’s continued presence in the top five, the pgLang/Interscope/ICLG star cements his status as one of the most dominant forces in music today.
