Soulja Boy’s Civil Trial Takes Center Stage

Soulja Boy is at the center of a high-profile civil trial following allegations of sexual assault, false imprisonment, and other serious claims.

The lawsuit, initially filed in 2021 by an anonymous woman who says she worked as his assistant, has brought renewed attention to the artist’s legal troubles.

Get this: the accuser claims that during her time working for Soulja Boy, she endured sexual battery, emotional distress, and an unsafe work environment. She also alleges that he failed to pay her overtime wages. Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, publicly denied the allegations. “I vehemently and unequivocally deny these allegations. I am in contact with my legal team and the appropriate legal action will be taken against these lies,” he stated at the time.

The trial kicked off on March 19, with the accuser taking the stand to recount her experiences. She testified that Soulja Boy allegedly trapped her in his Malibu home, withheld food, and confiscated her personal belongings. “I feared for my life,” she told the court. She also claimed that he sexually assaulted her in 2019, leaving her “in shock.” Soulja Boy’s defense team has countered these allegations, arguing that her statements are “inconsistent” and lack substantial evidence, as reported by TMZ.

Moreover, the civil trial is not the only legal matter Soulja Boy has faced recently. Last year, rapper Plies filed a lawsuit against him, along with Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, and Cardi B, accusing them of copyright infringement over the use of his “Me & My Goons” beat. However, Plies dropped the lawsuit earlier this week. Soulja Boy responded to the news on Instagram, sharing a screenshot of the update with a bold caption: “Just like I thought sit yo lil broke as down n*ga. This my sht dummy.”

Yikes.
