Grammy-nominated R&B singer Jaheim Hoagland, known professionally as Jaheim, was arrested on May 1 in Fulton County, Georgia, facing six counts of animal cruelty. Authorities allege that he failed to provide adequate food, water, sanitary conditions, and ventilation for six dogs under his care.
The investigation began on April 27 when animal control officers responded to a report of a malnourished dog in the Buckhead Village District. Officers discovered the dog tied up behind an RV, later identified as belonging to Jaheim. Upon further inspection, they found three 10-week-old puppies, an 11-month-old hound, a 5-year-old pit bull, and a French bulldog inside the RV. The animals were reportedly kept in kennels soiled with urine and feces, without proper ventilation.
This incident marks Jaheim’s second arrest related to animal cruelty. In 2021, he faced similar charges in New Jersey after authorities found 15 dogs living in deplorable conditions at his residence. One dog was in such poor health that it had to be euthanized.
Jaheim was released on a $35,000 bond the day after his arrest. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 2 to address the charges.
