Looks like hell has officially frozen over. In a twist few saw coming, Suge Knight has come to the defense of Sean Diddy Combs as the Bad Boy Records founder faces mounting legal battles involving federal sex trafficking allegations. Long painted as industry rivals on opposite sides of Hip Hop’s most infamous feud, Knight’s recent comments signal a surprising show of support.
Calling into Chris Cuomo’s CUOMO show on NewsNation, Knight shared that while he does not have a personal relationship with Diddy, he does not believe prison is where the mogul belongs. “Puffy and I are not friends” Knight admitted. “But Puffy should definitely walk free.”
Knight, who is currently incarcerated and serving a 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter, made it clear that in his view, Diddy is being unfairly singled out. “The most important thing is that it was other executives that were involved in Puffy’s life,” he explained. “For Puffy to be the only guy that gets on the stand is a sad day for Hip Hop.”
Suge also offered his take on recent testimony from Capricorn Clark, Diddy’s former assistant, whose allegations have played a key role in the ongoing investigation. Knight claimed to have first heard of Clark through a security staff member connected to Death Row Records, alleging that she had been involved in questionable situations within the industry.
According to the incarcerated Knight, Clark may have previously been paid off after an incident involving Diddy and industry executive Jimmy Iovine. However, no public evidence has confirmed these claims. Knight used the example to question her credibility and motivations. “I don’t know if the part that she was so scared of Puffy is true” he said while recounting a night out in New York with Clark and another woman. He claimed her behavior did not reflect someone who appeared traumatized or fearful and suggested that her current narrative may not tell the whole story.
