“He stuck his neck out there. We know he don’t have a problem with sticking his neck out there about what he believes in, and I’m glad he believed in this.”

Former Chicago gang leader Larry Hoover has had his life sentence commuted by former President Donald Trump, according to NOTUS and confirmed by a White House official. Hoover was serving time for a 1973 murder and a 1998 conviction for running a criminal enterprise from prison. In recent years, he renounced gang ties and filed a formal petition for sentence reduction, claiming rehabilitation. The decision has sparked debate, with supporters citing redemption and critics warning it sets a troubling precedent. Trump has released no official statement, and details about Hoover’s release remain unclear.
