Pusha T has had a hard time getting some work cleared by Universal Music Group. Back in 2018, he was set to be featured on Pop Smoke’s posthumous album. Pusha and Pop share a manager in Steven Victor. That didn’t happen, and Victor revealed it was due to Push’s past beef with Drake.
Speaking with Billboard, Victor revealed the label thought Pusha T was dissing The Boy on the verse. The verse was on “Paranoia,” from Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon.
“UMG thought that [Pusha T] was dissing Drake on that song. He wasn’t, but they thought he was… So they came to me and said, ‘We’re not going to put this out now, unless you get Pusha to change these lyrics,'” Victor said. “Even though it has nothing to do with Pop Smoke, they’re like, ‘Either he changes these lyrics, or we’re not putting the album out.'”
