Drake Pays Respect to Ozzy Osbourne with Tequila Toast at Black Sabbath

Drake made a heartfelt tribute to Ozzy Osbourne during a recent stop in Birmingham, England, following the legendary rocker’s passing on July 23.

In case you missed it, the “What Did I Miss?” hitmaker, currently touring the UK on his $ome $pecial $hows 4 UK run, took time between performances to visit the iconic Black Sabbath Bench in Osbourne’s hometown. Fans had transformed the site into a memorial, leaving behind flowers, photos, and personal messages in honor of the heavy metal pioneer.

According to The New York Times, Drake poured out a splash of tequila beside the bench as a quiet nod to Osbourne’s legacy. “I just came out to pay respects to someone who lived it to the fullest,” Drake said during the visit. He also described Osbourne as a “cultural touchstone,” acknowledging the singer’s massive impact even among audiences outside of rock and metal.

Drake briefly shared a photo of the flower-covered bench on the Gram with the caption, “Drank with the NY Times last night for Ozzy,” before later removing the post.

Ozzy Osbourne passed away at 76, surrounded by his family. In a public statement, his loved ones said, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.” The Black Sabbath frontman had been open about his Parkinson’s diagnosis since 2019 and had endured several health challenges in recent years.
